Hindu nationalist organisations protested outside the mini secretariat, accusing Muslims of having occupied a disputed piece of land, where Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Prem Singh Rajawat peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “land jihad.” He called for Hindu unity to stand and answer them, invoking the conditions of Hindus in Afghanistan, the Delhi Blast, and claiming they “have in their blood” to spread terrorism. BJP councillor Sarita Raj demanded that the land should not be given to Muslims, but should be granted for a temple and a children’s park. She urged Hindu unity, claiming that if they remain divided, they will be killed.
