Far-right organisations, led by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, mounted a campaign during the Maharashtra Assembly’s winter session to pressure lawmakers into passing a strict law against the conspiracy of ‘love jihad’. They submitted a statement to the District Collector for the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, and over 3,000 citizens supported the demand through a signature campaign.
