Bongiyo Hindu Suraksha staged a protest against the alleged desecration of an idol during Kali Puja. Despite the police arresting a Hindu man for the act and issuing clarifications, members of the group targeted Muslims during the protest. A speaker claimed it was part of the implementation of ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ and a ‘jihadi’ conspiracy to turn Bengal into Bangladesh. He warned that if Hindus did not ‘wake up,’ West Bengal would no longer remain a part of India but become part of Greater Bangladesh, and that the land and properties of Hindus would be taken away, forcing Bengal’s Hindus to migrate to Jharkhand, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh.
