At a press briefing, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari alleged that illegal infiltrators and radical extremists had established networks across West Bengal under the guise of minority rights and religious institutions, claiming they received funding from India’s enemy countries. He further alleged that organisations operating in rural and forested areas, including Bankura, were converting economically vulnerable people by offering money and medical treatment. Adhikari also highlighted measures including the removal of OBC certificates, the discontinuation of imam honorarium schemes, cow protection initiatives, and progress towards implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He stated that stricter laws against “religious conversions” and restrictions on the sale and purchase of land between members of different religious communities remained key priorities.
