At an event at Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya, BJP leader and lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay peddled conspiracy theories such as “love jihad”, “land jihad”, “drugs jihad”, and “porn jihad” and raised slogans calling for liberation from “jihadis”, missionaries, and “Mazhabi” rules, laws, departments, and ministries. He advocated for “ghar wapsi” (re-conversion) by offering double the alleged amount given for religious conversion and called for the removal of the word “secular” from the Constitution’s preamble.
