Chandrashekhar Tiwari, chairman of the Hindu Utsav Samiti, led a protest after several traffic and kilometre signboards on the Lambakheda–Jagdishpur route were found bearing the former name “Islam Nagar” instead of Jagdishpur. On December 10, protesters covered locations where “Islam Nagar” was written with “Jagdishpur” banners, vandalising the existing boards by blackening signboards. They demanded the complete removal of the old name and raised slogans “Whoever follows Babur’s path will die a dog’s death” “Put Dabur’s oil and remove the aspirations of Babur.”
