At the distribution of land rights letters to families displaced from Pakistan, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath targeted Muslims, questioning the sincerity of “maulvis” and “maulanas” who support recognising the cow as “National Animal” (Rashtriya Pashu). He alleged that such support was insincere, cited images of cows shared on social media during Bakrid as evidence of a double standard, and demanded that Muslims prove their sincerity by giving up Waqf land. He further accused Muslims of remaining silent on the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh. Referring to the killing of Surya Chauhan, he invoked the Ramayana, stating that while non-violence reflects humanity, it is necessary to take up arms when confronted by “Khar-Dushan” (demons). He also alleged that Congress opposed land grants to displaced families while granting citizenship to “Bangladeshi ghuspaithiyas.”
