Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) National President Alok Kumar, speaking at Prabuddha Jan Goshthi, fearmongered over the Muslim and Christian population. He claimed that Muslims are taught that there are only two types of people, Muslims and non-believers, and are taught to indulge in “jihad” against non-believers, alleging that murdering them and abducting women is justified. He claimed that the parda system, child marriage, and late-night weddings emerged as defence mechanisms against Muslims. He also claimed that many states have become Christian-majority, alleging that Christians demand separate countries. He accused Christians of indulging in religious conversion by offering free education and financial assistance, and glorified laws against religious conversion. He called for “ghar wapsi” and peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad.” He also referred to political alliance between Muslims and Hindus belonging to oppressed castes, fearmongering over it.
