In Birbhum, Hindu Suraksha Samiti Speakers Target Muslims and Call for Hindu Rashtra

Location: Birbhum, West Bengal

At a Hindu Suraksha Samiti district organizational meeting, a speaker promoted conspiracy theories around “al-taqiyya,” claiming that Muslims deceive non-Muslims by concealing their true intentions. He alleged that Muslims follow different principles depending on their share of the population, asserting that they initially live peacefully as a minority before attempting to establish an “Islamic theocracy” once their population increases. He claimed that Muslims, secularists, and communists falsely portray concerns about forced conversions as a “myth” and alleged that Islamic rule in India was defined by violence against Hindus, accusing Indian Muslims, leftists, and communists of undermining the country while questioning why Muslims remain in India instead of moving to Muslim-majority countries. Far-right monk Vrindavan Babaji claimed that Hindus had been denied religious freedom before the current government came to power and asserted that West Bengal was the only “Bengali Hindu homeland.” He criticized secularism, alleged that madrasas receive preferential treatment and deprive Hindu students of educational opportunities, discouraged social interaction with Muslims, urged supporters to eliminate the “weeds of secularism,” called on mothers to raise children with “Sanatani” values, and advocated for India to become a “Hindu Rashtra.”
