BJP MLA Nitesh Rane visited fisherwomen who claimed that illegal Bangladeshis attacked them during a territorial feud; accompanied by a TV crew, he told an official to bar alleged Rohingya and Bangladeshis from the fish market, claiming they “eat into local business.”
Rane scolded the official for failing to identify Bangladeshis, saying they “look different”; he told a police officer to treat them as brutally as West Bengal police and called them “green snakes” who betray after being fed.He dismissed the officer’s claim that some were Indian, saying, “None of them are from here!”; he then ranted about madrasas, mosques, Rohingyas, and Bangladeshis, linking them to the Ajmal Kasab infiltration and the Pahalgam terror attack, and shouted, “Stop giving milk to these green snakes!” while demonising Muslims.
