Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma peddled the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad,” claiming that their women are being taken away from their homes through “love jihad.” He also announced plans to introduce a law under which anyone allegedly involved in “love jihad,” along with their parents, would be arrested.
