Rakesh ‘Uttarakhandi’ Tomar, founder of the far-right organisation Rudra Sena, speaking at the 20-year celebration of the newspaper Garh Bairat, targeted Muslims living in the region and fearmongered about their population. He also promoted conspiracy theories such as “love jihad,” “land jihad,” “byapar jihad,” and “smack jihad.” He claimed that Muslims had been allotted land illegally by a Muslim official in the past and demanded the closure of Muslim graveyards at several locations.
