Members of the Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad Assam (TAIPA) threatened a Bengali-origin Muslim family at their home to leave within two days, declaring that no “Miya” would be allowed in Upper Assam. The family said they had an agreement with the landowner and would follow legal proceedings, but the members insisted they leave, claiming the owner had refused to sell the land, which led to a physical altercation.
