Pravin Togadia, founder and president of the Antarrashtriya Hindu Parishad and Rashtriya Bajrang Dal, urged Hindus to keep “trishuls” and other weapons in their homes and undergo training to defend themselves, promoting militant religious mobilisation through programmes such as “shastra pujan.” He claimed that Hindus have existed since the beginning of time and are direct descendants of God, alleging that 2,000 and 1,400 years ago there were no Christians or Muslims. He asserted that Hinduism and the idea of a “Hindu Rashtra” were created by God and that Hindus once inhabited the entire world, claiming their decline was due to “loot, conversion, and displacement.” Fearmongering about a declining Hindu population, he claimed that Hindus face violence wherever they become a minority and warned that their homes would be seized and their children killed, citing Pakistan, Kashmir, Bangladesh, and the deaths of Tarun and Surya Chauhan. He called for maintaining a “Hindu majority,” demanded a population control law and the expulsion of “Bangladeshis,” and promoted the campaign “3 bache Hindu sache.” He urged Hindus to buy from and employ only Hindus, advocating an economic boycott of Muslims and claiming that if Hindus stopped supporting them financially, “they would die of starvation.” He further asserted that Hindus would be “the ones to beat and win,” referred to Muslims as “snakes,” and claimed that Hanuman Chalisa gatherings would counter Friday prayers.
