At a weekly Hanuman Chalisa event, VHP–Bajrang Dal leader Vikas Verma cited an alleged case in which school students were forced to remove their tilak, kalava, and janeu, and were marked absent if they objected. He alleged that Christianity and Islam have long sought to convert Hindus and claimed that such forces continue to target Sanatan Dharma in Dehradun. He praised Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s action against what he described as “vidharmi” and “kattarpanti” forces and welcomed the dissolution of the Madrasa Board, alleging that madrasas teach that non-Muslims are “kafirs” who should be “beheaded.” He alleged that madrasas cultivate a “jihadi” mindset and claimed that individuals educated in them, including future doctors, would not hesitate to engage in terrorism. He further claimed that “maulanas” and “muftis” promise “72 hoors” after death, encouraging individuals to carry out suicide attacks by blowing themselves up in crowds of Hindus.
