At a weekly Hanuman Chalisa event, VHP–Bajrang Dal leader Vikas Verma termed the CJP student protest at Jantar Mantar as “jihadis’ protest,” alleging that “anti-national” elements infiltrated the demonstration, raised “anti-Hindu” and “anti-Sanatan” slogans, vandalised public property, and caused innocent students to be targeted. He compared the protest to the Shaheen Bagh and farmers’ protests, associated it with the Samajwadi Party, Congress, and Ambedkarite groups, and labelled them “anti-national” and “anti-Sanatan.” He further alleged that protesters had threatened to kill the Prime Minister, warning that “the majority section of India,” would not tolerate such actions.
