During the Sanatan Hindu Ekta Padyatra, several far-right monks and religious preachers delivered speeches invoking fears of demographic change and calling for Hindu unity to establish India as a “Hindu Rashtra.” Abhaydas Maharaj warned that Hindus must unite or soon they would not even be able to hold sant sammelans or kathas. He claimed that “the day ‘they’ become more than 50% in numbers, what is happening in some states will happen across the nation.” Sadhvi Ritambhara emphasized Hindu unity to build a “Hindu Rashtra” and establish Ram Rajya, asserting that it is time to crush “the global challenges and the snakes hidden in our own sleeves who threaten the nation from within.”
