In Delhi, Shastri Peddles ‘Love Jihad’ and ‘Land Jihad’ Demographic Fears

Location: Delhi

During the Divine Discourse and Cultural Program of the Sanatan Hindu Ekta Padyatra, Dhirendra Shastri peddled anti-Muslim conspiracy theories of “love jihad” and “land jihad” — and fearmongered about the demographic shift. He claimed that in 20 years Hindus would have to “fight for their existence” and framed the padyatra as a means to save those who are being converted to Christianity and Islam. Shastri warned that Hindus are already minorities in nine states and that if the trend continues, property and rights will be usurped by ‘them.’ He invoked bulldozer action against alleged offenders and asserted, “this country is not Babur’s but Raghuvar’s.”
