Speaking at a Hanuman Chalisa event, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Surendra Gupta claimed that the VHP and Bajrang Dal members had taken an oath to eliminate all forms of “jihad” from Delhi. He also shared a helpline number, urging people to contact the organisation if they faced “jihadis” or if any “jihadi” harassed or challenged women. He accused Muslim shopkeepers and vendors of using fake Hindu names during the Kanwar Yatra and claimed that VHP-Bajrang Dal members had identified and certified Hindu-owned shops to ensure that devotees did not purchase “impure” items. Referring to Muslims as “pests,” he further asserted that although they try to intimidate Hindus through their numbers, they would flee Hindu localities upon witnessing the crowds attending Hanuman Chalisa events.
During a Hanuman Chalisa event organised by VHP-Bajrang Dal, leader Jagjit Singh ‘Goldy’ alleged that “vidharmis” are harassing Hindus in the national capital, occupying Hindu homes, and selling drugs. He warned that if any “jihadi” or “vidharmi” harasses a Hindu, attempts to occupy Hindu homes, or engages in what he described as “love jihad,” Bajrang Dal would “show its true form” and respond with great force.
