BJP leader and Mayor Sunita Dayal stopped two Muslim children riding a bicycle carrying a sack near the Hindon Barrage and accused them of transporting beef to dump into the river. She called the police and demanded that the children be taken into custody, allegedly warning officers of suspension if they released them. Police seized the sack and detained the two children along with another man. Dayal also warned of action against the madrasa and threatened its closure.
