Far-right monk Mahant Raju Das, speaking at a religious event organised by Nav Yuvak Laxmi Pooja Samiti, declared that they would demolish the mosque in Mathura (referring to the Shahi Idgah Mosque) as they did with Babri, even if it required using dynamite or Yogi’s bulldozers, to build a grand Krishna temple. He urged Hindus to be ‘kattar’ (radical) and incited violence by calling for chopping off the tongues of and physically assaulting those who speak against their religion. He claimed that the Constitution is safe only because Hindus are in the majority and promoted conspiracy theories of ‘love jihad,’ ‘land jihad,’ and religious conversion. He alleged that the Hindu population is decreasing and said it should have been those “with three wives and seventy-three children” instead. He declared that only Sanatan is a true religion and dismissed other faiths as mere paths, sects, or systems for pleasure, not true religions. He added that Hindus are still surviving because their ancestors were fighters; otherwise, they too would be wearing skull caps, walking with bowed heads, and become ‘kathmulle katwe.’
