Shankaracharya Narendra Saraswati, speaking at a religious narration event, promoted the anti-Muslim conspiracy theory of “love jihad,” claiming that Hindu women were assigned prices ranging from ₹33,000 to ₹40 lakh and that their organs could be sold for ₹1–7 crore if they were cut. He urged Hindu women to arm themselves with knives and chilli powder for self-defence. He also accused Muslims and Christians of increasing their population exponentially and praised Yogi Adityanath for enacting laws against cow slaughter. Using dog-whistle rhetoric, he referred to Muslims as “demons,” declared that Hindus would establish “Akhand Bharat” by occupying neighbouring territories, and called on Hindus to arm themselves with weapons. He further urged Hindus to vote only for Hindu candidates, warning that otherwise their throats would be slit.
