At an event organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, Bajrang Dal leader Hiren Rabari made an inflammatory anti-Muslim statement, invoking the demolition of the Babri Masjid to threaten Muslims. He said, “You pigs (Muslims) keep saying you need 15 minutes to finish us off. We demolished your Babri mosque in 9 minutes, and neither the police nor the army could do anything to save your father’s mosque.”
