At an “Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat” event organised by Manas Bhawan Nirman Evam Sanchalan Samiti and Sw. Nathulal Mantri Janakalyan Nyas, BJP leader and Supreme Court lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay spread the conspiracies of “love jihad” and “land jihad,” linking them to religious conversions and demographic change. He claimed “all drug dealers are Muslims” and equated religious conversion with “waging war.” He invoked Mughal history to stoke hate and led an oath demanding freedom from “love jihad” and “land jihad.”
