During the Inauguration of a new terminal building of Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that the Congress has conspired to appease “mazhabis” for the sake of vote-bank politics and targeted those he referred to as “ghuspaithiya” (infiltrators). He alleged that the party has allowed “ghuspaithiya” to enter Bengal and Assam, resulting in a change in Assam’s demography. He further claimed that these “infiltrators” have encroached upon land and forests, leaving Assam’s identity and security. He said that the central government has been attempting to remove these “illegal infiltrators” by identifying them.
