During a protest organised by the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha against the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh, far-right monk Yati Narsinghanand Giri made derogatory remarks against Muslims, claiming they refuse to say “Vande Mataram” and say “Jai Hind” instead, alleging that Hindusthan was given by Prophet Muhammad to his mistress. Narsinghanand further demanded reformations in gun laws, urged Hindu families to have at least five children, fearmongering about the demographic decline, and warned that he could be arrested or assassinated by a “mulla.” He asserted that Muslims (“mullas”) should not be allowed to enter Hindu homes.
