In Haridwar, Speakers Warn India Could Become Islamic State

Location: Haridwar, Uttarakhand

At the Idol Establishment Ceremony, organised at the Gurudev Samadhi Temple, Sudarshan News editor-in-chief Suresh Chavhanke alleged that most Islamic countries were formed not by force but through demographic expansion, religious conversion, “ghuspaith” (infiltration), and “love jihad.” He claimed India is in the “third stage” of this process and warned it could become an “Islamic state,” further alleging that Hindus have become minorities in 1,000 Indian cities. VHP national president Alok Kumar stated that after “reclaiming” Ram Janmabhoomi, the matters of Krishna Janmabhoomi and Kashi Vishwanath are now in court, and suggested that people may soon be invited for similar bhoomi poojan ceremonies there. Further, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted measures to preserve the state’s “cultural and demographic” composition, referencing laws against religious conversion, riots, “love jihad,” “land jihad,” and “thook jihad,” and asserting strict action against such “anti-national” activities. He claimed action against “land jihad” had “freed” over 11,000 acres of government land, mentioned the dissolution of the Madrasa Board and closure of around 250 alleged “illegal” madrasas and referenced “Operation Kalnemi” as a campaign against individuals who he alleged were targeting and harming “Sanatan Sanskriti.”
