A Hindu nationalist mob lynched 21-year-old Suleman Rahim Khan Pathan after spotting him with a Hindu woman from his village at a café. Witnesses said the café owner identified him as Muslim and summoned several young men, who surrounded and beat him to death. The mob also assaulted his parents when they tried to intervene. Police filed murder and rioting charges against five named men and 12 unidentified others; the family alleged some of the accused worked as cow vigilantes.
