The Jammu Development Authority (JDA) demolished the home of journalist Arfaz Ahmed Daing, alleging it was an illegal construction on JDA land. Locals protested the action, saying the family had lived there for nearly four decades. Daing said he would challenge the demolition in court. Eyewitnesses reported that authorities brought down the house within minutes using heavy machinery, and scuffles broke out when people, including a cameraman, attempted to record the incident.
