Police killed a man and injured his associates in an encounter over alleged cow smuggling after they reportedly rammed their pickup van into Head Constable Durgesh Kumar Singh, who later died from his injuries. Police identified the deceased as Salman, a resident of Jaunpur, while his associates Narendra Yadav and Golu Yadav are undergoing treatment.
