Members of the Assamese ethno-nationalist group Bir Lachit Sena forcibly evicted Bengali-speaking Muslims from a rented apartment, alleging that the tenant had brought them in to settle in the area. They claimed the individuals were “Bangladeshis” who had been evicted during the recent eviction drives.
