At a Shrimad Bhagwat Katha, far-right monk Madhuram Sharan Shiva, leader of the armed monks’ group Shiva Shakti Akhada, called on Hindu mothers to raise children who can both study and fight,invoking Jijabai as an example of militant religious upbringing and urging preparedness for “dharm yudh” (religious war). He criticised Hindu women for prioritising English education and wealth over religion, alleging that sending children to “Christian missionary” and English-medium schools was destroying Hindu dharm and turning children “English.” He fearmongered over the survival of Hinduism, claiming that declining birth rates and failure to pass on religion to future generations, along with social pressure and fear of boycott, are leading Hindus to abandon religious upbringing.
