Jiten Dutta, a former leader of the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA), alleged at a public meeting that “Miyas from Bangladesh” are conspiring to systematically annihilate indigenous communities by entering into marital relationships. He falsely claimed that Miya individuals have been taking control of areas along the Assam-Arunachal border by marrying Naga women under the pretext of working in coal mines.
