At a Sakal Hindu Samaj support meeting for Akshay Khole, NCP MLA Sangram Jagtap delivered a speech targeting Muslims. He claimed Muslims follow only sharia and not the Indian Constitution, promoted violence as a response to “jihadis”, and spread the “love jihad” conspiracy, alleging Muslims want to turn India into an “Islamic country” through conversions. Jagtap demonised Muslim men, saying they do not see women as sisters or mothers but as tools to increase the Muslim population. He also targeted Muslim hawkers, calling them “jihadis”, accusing them of evading GST and income tax, and warning Hindu shopkeepers not to allow them near their shops, alleging they were “eyeing their daughters”.
