In Kosi Kalan, Shastri Warns of ‘Civil War’ and Says Hindus Could Face ‘Kashmir-Like’ Fate

Location: Kosi Kalan, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh

During the Sanatan Hindu Ekta Padyatra, religious leader Dhirendra Shastri spoke about the planned mass mobilisation on November 16, stating that those who constructed those stones in Mathura “will be shaken by our voice.” He added that they would “not take the law into their own hands” and were awaiting the court’s orders, but asserted that the temple would be built at the same disputed site, calling November 16 a “historic day” when participants would chant “Radhe Radhe.” Shastri warned that if Hindus are not united, “a civil war” could occur in India and asserted that if “minorities” become a majority, Hindus would become a minority and lose the ability to protect their homes, water resources, pilgrimage sites, and families. He claimed that without unity, Hindus would face conditions like Kashmiri Pandits and referenced the killing of Kanhaiya Lal, saying similar incidents could happen to them. Shastri further fearmongered that Hindu daughters could be “found in 35 pieces,” religious scriptures would be burnt, monks would be killed, homes would be torched, and riots like those in Kosi and Nuh (Mewat) would recur, leading future generations to convert to other religions. Shastri said that those who oppose Vande Mataram, the yatra, or Ram should “get a ticket for Lahore,” adding, “One who doesn’t belong to Ram is of no use to us.” He peddled the conspiracy theory of “love jihad” and conversion. Another speaker, Mahant Chetan Das, stated that a Hindu Rashtra will be created “on the day Modi, Yogi, and Amit Shah decide to take action,” and claimed that cow slaughter would also be halted whenever they choose.
