BJP MLA Nandkishore Gurjar alleged that around six lakh people he described as “Bangladeshis” and “Rohingya” were living in the area, blaming them for crimes including murder, robbery, and cow slaughter. Contrasting this with the period after Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power, he claimed that women were now safe enough to move freely at night. At the same event, Rajya Sabha MP and former Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma asserted that those who engage in cow slaughter or fail to respect “Bharat Mata” do not belong to the nation. He criticised modern family planning practices and, referring to the BJP’s electoral gains in West Bengal, declared that they would not allow it to become “Bangladesh.”
