During a public meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi labeled “illegal ghuspaithiya (infiltrators)” as one of the state’s greatest challenges, accusing the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of deliberately turning these “ghuspaithiya” (infiltrators) into a loyal vote bank. He alleged that they were stealing jobs from locals, harassing women, and driving a rise in “crime” and “terrorism.” He further claimed that unchecked infiltration was causing a “demographic shift,” even altering the local Bengali dialect in some areas and fueling communal riots. Modi asserted that once the BJP is in power, it would carry out a decisive crackdown, contrasting this with persecuted Hindu minorities from Pakistan and Bangladesh, and claiming that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) would provide them safety, citizenship, and rights in India.
