At a Sant Sammelan organised by religious narrator Dhirendra Shastri ahead of a march from Delhi to Vrindavan, monk Raju Das alleged that “Chadar-father” people were involved in “love jihad” and religious conversion. Monk Rajendra Das claimed Hindus became second-class citizens after Independence, alleging that with a uniform civil code all Muslims would have converted to Hinduism. He falsely claimed an extremist Muslim was made the first education minister but that “cleaning” has now begun. He also urged Hindus to return to caste-assigned work, calling it the most efficient system, and accused Muslims of taking over businesses and services. Dhirendra Shastri declared their campaign would continue until a Krishna temple is built in Mathura, the cow is declared “Rashtra Mata,” and India is proclaimed a “Hindu Rashtra.”
