Two Muslim girls were denied entry for wearing burqas during Sadbhavna Mela for Diwali at Ismail Girls’ Degree College. The girls had registered to set up a jewellery stall at the exhibition, but were asked to remove their burqas in order to take part. The college administration cited institutional rules as the reason for non-entry with burqas.
