Gau Raksha Parishad staged a protest demanding the release of 14 cow vigilantes who were sentenced to life imprisonment for the August 2022 mob lynching of Nazir Ahmed. During the protest, demonstrators burned and assaulted an effigy of Additional District and Sessions Judge Tabassum Khan, who had pronounced the verdict.
