Authorities carried out demolitions targeting allegedly illegal constructions and encroachments on land belonging to the Children’s Aid Society.The action followed a campaign by former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya, who described the area as a case of “land jihad” by a “Bangladeshi mafia”.
