At a public press conference, BJP MLA Nitesh Rane incited violence against Muslims, repeatedly using slurs like “jihadis,” “topiwallas,” and “daadiwallas.”
He challenged Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers to attack Muslims in areas like Mohammed Ali Road, Bhendi Bazaar, and Nal Bazaar, saying, “If you really have courage, go beat up those jihadis… crack their skulls.” He added, “They don’t speak our Marathi—go confront the mutton sellers and pheriwallas in their areas; I’ll even provide the car.”
Rane further declared that if Shiv Sainiks and MNS workers were truly following in Bal Thackeray’s footsteps, they would go to Nal Bazaar, demand Muslims speak in Marathi, and “fix them.”
