During a Kavad Yatra organised by Shri Mumbreshwar Mahadev Kavadia Mandal, BJP MLA and Maharashtra cabinet minister Nitesh Rane said Mumbra should be renamed “Mumbra Devi,” declaring it a Hindu area and saying, “this is nobody’s father’s Pakistan.” He repeatedly described the area as part of a “Hindu Rashtra” and “Hindu Maharashtra” and called for the Hindu population to increase in Mumbra. He also told attendees to call him if anyone tried to intimidate them.
