Members of Hindu Sangharsh Samiti staged a protest against Muslim families purchasing homes in the predominantly Hindu neighbourhood. Demonstrators gathered outside the properties and recited the Hanuman Chalisa, announcing that they would continue the recitation every Tuesday until the families vacate the area. They alleged a deliberate attempt to alter the neighbourhood’s demographics and claimed that Hindus and Muslims cannot coexist. Amid allegations that government-subsidized housing was being resold at inflated prices, officials sealed two PMAY-built houses and ordered the occupants to vacate, while a verification process remains ongoing for the remaining properties.
