Hindu Raksha Dal members led by Youth District President Hemant Kaushik tore down and set fire to banners outside “King Chicken Corner,” a non-vegetarian restaurant operated by Azad Chaudhary, on the Delhi–Haridwar Highway. They objected to a flex board for “Shri Badri Vishal Pure Restaurant” next to it, alleging that Hindu religious names and imagery were being used to promote a non-veg establishment. The group further warned that non-vegetarian eateries would not be allowed to operate along the Kanwar Yatra route. Police subsequently booked more than 20 individuals in connection with the vandalism.
