During a Hindu Jan Akrosh Morcha organised by Sakal Hindu Samaj, BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar claimed that religious conversions were causing Christians to outnumber and persecute Hindus, and alleged that Christians deceived Hindus into converting. He also said Muslims who refused to chant “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram” deserved imprisonment under new laws. Far-right influencer Sangram Bapu Bhandare Patil claimed that Muslims sought to carry out “Ghazwa-e-Islam” and turn India into an Islamic country, promoted the “love jihad” conspiracy, and urged people to kick Muslims.
