In Palwal, Bajrang Dal Leaders Call for Killing ‘Demons’ and Shutting Mosque

Location: Palwal, Haryana

At a Mahapanchayat against the alleged religious conversion of a girl at a mosque, VHP-Bajrang Dal leader Puneet Vashisht invoked religious texts to claim they mandate killing those who slaughter cows. He alleged that Muslims have one goal– to capture property, target Hindu women, and increase their population, and described them as “demons” with beards and caps, invoking religious imagery to declare that it is important to kill “demons.” AHP-Rashtriya Bajrang Dal leader Munish Bhardwaj referred to Muslims as “jihadis” and labelled mosques and madrasas as “factories of terrorism,” declaring they would not allow the mosque to operate in the village. He claimed Muslims only listen when there is a “musal” (club) in hand, citing police brutality against the “I love Muhammad” poster campaigners in Uttar Pradesh as an example.
