At a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Foundation Day programme, VHP leader Bharat Bhushan claimed that the organisation works to “rescue” Hindu women allegedly targeted by Muslims and Christians through “love jihad” and religious conversion. He alleged that Muslim and Christian groups brainwash Hindu women and convert Hindus to their respective religions, saying VHP carries out “ghar wapsi” to bring converts back to Hinduism. Bhushan also called on Hindu youth to unite around “gau, Ganga, and mandir” and described the protection of cows and Hindu women as a key responsibility of VHP.
