Union Home Minister Amit Shah, attending a discussion at the Hindustan Bihar Samagam 2025 organised by the Hindustan Times group, questioned whether “ghuspaithiyas” (infiltrators) should determine Bihar’s government. He accused Congress of using infiltrators as “vote banks” and said the BJP supports the Election Commission in identifying and deporting them. Shah alleged that Congress and RJD are fostering divisions by allowing Muslim “ghuspaithiyas” to stay, while reaffirming his party’s commitment to granting citizenship to Hindu, Buddhist, and Sikh refugees from Pakistan and Bangladesh, asserting that they have as much right to the country as he does.
