In Pune, BJP Leader Sunil Deodhar Targets Muslims and Christians and Urges Hindus to Keep Weapons

Location: Pune, Maharashtra

At an event organised by the Sheth Chimanlal Govinddas Trust, BJP leader Sunil Deodhar delivered an anti-Muslim and anti-Christian hate speech, terming both communities threats to India’s national unity. He asserted that Muslims reject the belief that “Ishwar and Allah are the same.” Citing Savarkar, he claimed that India had failed to recognise the “threat of Islam.” He also claimed that Islam encourages population growth through the abduction of women, attributing it to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, promoted the conspiracy theories of “love jihad” and “land jihad,” alleged that Muslims are the primary dealers of intoxicants responsible for addicting and weakening Hindus, and called for a population control law, claiming that Hindus follow the law while Muslims do not and referring to Muslim-majority localities as “mini-Pakistans.” He further claimed that Christian missionaries in Meghalaya had portrayed Hindus as enemies of the local population and accused them of involvement in violent conspiracies, including rape, murder, and displacement, to convert the Northeastern region. He warned against Muslims working as delivery agents and street vendors, alleging that they sought to befriend Hindu women as part of “love jihad.” He urged Hindus not to befriend non-Hindus. He also called on attendees to keep weapons alongside idols in their homes, teach children to worship them, and openly display weapons at home.
